First Aid
At Marron’s Pharmacy, we are available to the community for minor first aid. Our service is simple, when you need a quick pair of professional eyes to look at a cut, scrape, wound or burn, we’re available.
We all unfortunately have tumbles and falls or accidentally scald someone or ourselves. Usually, your doctor can not see you straight away and that’s where we’re here to help.
We can irrigate the wound with saline or an antiseptic wash and apply simple dressings while you wait for your doctor to check you out.
If you burn yourself, we have emergency sterile burn packs to apply to the burn and cover with secondary dressings.
We can assess insect bites or stings and advise whether you go on to see your doctor.
Some people are told to take out stitches 5 days after minor surgical procedures but the 5th day falls on a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday. We have suture removal packs and can possibly help out.
If you have had a tumble and need a support, we can measure you and supply you with an appropriate one. We’ll also refer you to a physio or other health care professional if we think you should see one.
One thing we won’t do is something we are not comfortable doing but we’ll always offer sound advice around wound care, strains, sprains and burns.
This service carries a service fee of €10 for minor first aid or €15 for more time consuming first aid (includes wound wash) and the dressings costs.
