Step One
Apply the Gentle Cleanser onto damp skin, using a soft cloth or fingers to remove makeup, sunscreen, dirt oil and even waterproof eye makeup. Rinse your face and move on to your second cleanse.
Step Two
Apply the Exfoliating Cleanser to the entire face, working into specific areas of congestion around the nose and T-Zone. Use a soft cloth or fingers to work into the skin, then rinse face and pat dry. Use 2 – 3 times per week.
Cleanse & Exfoliate suits most skin types and is the system for you if you have blackheads, whiteheads, congestion or dull skin. Most skin types will benefit from an Exfoliating Cleanser 2 – 3 times weekly to promote cell turnover and reveal radiant skin. Cleanse & Exfoliate can be used in conjunction with the other systems, and are designed to work effectively together. If using the Cleanse & Exfoliate in conjunction with our other systems we recommend using them on alternate nights.
Oily Skin
Oily skin is more susceptible to blemishes and spots because the oil causes the skin to shed more slowly than other skin types. The “trapped” dead skin exacerbates the oiliness as it absorbs sebum which is the oily secretion of sebaceous glands. Exfoliating leaves you with softer, smoother skin.
I have dry skin, will Cleanse & Exfoliate work for me?
Yes, Exfoliate can help to combat skin dryness when used carefully. Exfoliating Cleanser works to remove these dead skin cells that can cause dryness, by eliminating the dull layer on the outer part of your skin. As pores are unclogged and the surface of the skin is smoothed, your other hydrating skincare products can penetrate more deeply to combat dryness.
There are just over 2% AHAs (a combination of Lactic and Citric Acid) and under 1% BHA (Salicylic Acid), which are both skin-friendly and effective. Both AHAs and BHAs act as skin exfoliants, both chemical and physical with small water-soluble beads. In effect, this means that AHAs work on the skin’s surface, while BHAs work within the pores. If you’d like a cleanse that focuses on a higher-strength BHA we’d recommend our Clarify system.
